We recently completed a commercial door and frame replacement for Martin’s Restaurant in Mableton, Georgia. The existing door and frame needed to be removed and replaced, but this installation presented an additional challenge because concrete surrounded the lip of the frame and extended inside the wall.
Restaurant doors are exposed to frequent daily use, making a solid, properly installed door and frame important for dependable operation. When an existing frame needs to be removed from an opening surrounded by concrete, extra care is necessary to avoid damaging the surrounding structure while preparing the opening for the replacement.
Project Details
On this project, our team removed the old commercial door and frame and installed a new door and frame at Martin’s Restaurant. Removing the existing frame was the most challenging part of the project because concrete had been placed around the lip of the frame and inside the wall.
Our technician used a hammer drill to carefully remove the concrete surrounding the existing frame. The concrete had to be removed without damaging the wall or other parts of the opening so the old frame could be taken out and the opening prepared for the replacement.

- Commercial grade handle & lock
- New commercial push bar
The new frame and door were then installed to create a complete, properly functioning commercial opening with a push bar exit device. Despite the additional work required to remove the concrete around the original frame, the installation was completed successfully and the finished project turned out great.
