Door Resources recently completed a commercial door hardware upgrade at Riverwoods Behavioral, improving both the functionality and appearance of the facility’s primary glass entry door.

The Challenge
The existing pull handle on the main entrance door had become loose, damaged, and ultimately detached. In addition to creating operational issues for daily use, the removal of the original handle left visible holes through the face of the door, creating an unsightly and unprofessional appearance at a highly visible entry point.
For facilities like behavioral health centers, a secure and welcoming main entrance is critical. The door must operate smoothly, support proper locking hardware, and present a clean, professional look for staff, visitors, and patients.
Our Solution
Our technician, Robert Theiss, retrofitted a new commercial-grade pull handle onto the primary entry door. To ensure optimal functionality, the new handle was strategically offset from the original mounting location. This allowed proper cylinder access and lock operation without interference, a detail that ensures both usability and long-term reliability.
By repositioning the handle, we were also able to eliminate the visual impact of the previous hardware damage. The retrofit restored the door’s professional appearance while reinforcing secure daily operation.
Results
- Secure, properly mounted commercial pull handle
- Improved aesthetics at the building’s main entrance
- Maintained full cylinder functionality
- Long-term durability and reliability
