Commercial Steel Door and Frame Replacement for Dexter Marine Products

Door Resources replaced an aging exterior opening at Dexter Marine Products on the Marietta side of Atlanta with a new hollow metal frame, insulated steel door, Von Duprin panic hardware, new sweep, and threshold for improved security and performance.

When their exterior commercial door began to wear out, the problem went beyond appearance. The aging door and frame created security concerns, led to energy loss, hardware issues, and a barely kept out the weather. For this project, we removed the existing door and frame and replaced the opening with a new commercial-grade assembly built for durability, security, and daily use.

Project Details

After removing the existing frame and door, our team prepared the opening for a full replacement and installed a new 5-3/4 hollow metal frame along with a new 30/70 polystyrene insulated core door. This type of door provides a stronger, more dependable solution for commercial facilities that need both security and better thermal performance.

To complete the opening, we installed a Von Duprin 22 Series panic bar with a Von Duprin 230L lever trim. This combination provides reliable egress from the inside while maintaining secure exterior access. We also added a commercial lockset, new sweep, and threshold to help improve the seal at the bottom of the door and create a cleaner finished installation.

The completed opening gives Dexter Marine Products a much stronger and more professional commercial entry point. With a new frame, insulated steel door, updated exit hardware, and fresh perimeter components, the opening is now better equipped for long-term performance in a demanding commercial environment.
