Securing Houston County Schools: A Successful Collaboration with Door Resources

In an effort to enhance security across its facilities, the Houston County School District in Georgia embarked on a large-scale security upgrade project. Installation of Schlage ND75 Classroom Security Locks

This system, featuring the Schlage ND75 Classroom Security function locks, was chosen for its reliability and ability to secure educational environments. The ND75 lock allows teachers to lock their classrooms from the inside during emergencies, enhancing the safety of students and staff.

In addition to upgrading the locks, Door Resources converted every classroom in the district to use the Schlage ND75 lock, a process that involved fitting over 11,000 locks and keyed cylinders. The locks were paired with Schlage Everest 29 restricted keyway cylinders, a high-security option that limits access to authorized personnel only and prevents unauthorized duplication of keys.

Master Key System for District-Wide Control

The new Schlage Everest 29 restricted keyway system also allowed for the implementation of a master key system across the district. This means that while each individual facility or department may have its own set of keys, the district can maintain overall control through master keys.
