Exit Devices & Emergency Exit Solutions

Enhance Safety & Security with Reliable Exit Devices

At Door Resources, we understand that the safety and security of your commercial property are paramount. Exit devices, commonly known as panic bars or push bars, are a critical component of your building's emergency egress system. These devices ensure that occupants can quickly and safely exit the building during emergencies. Whether you’re upgrading existing doors or outfitting a new facility, we offer a range of high-quality exit devices designed to meet your needs.

Why Exit Devices Are Essential

Emergency Egress

Exit devices are designed to provide a quick and easy way to open a door in case of an emergency. With a simple push, these devices allow for fast evacuation, helping to prevent panic and ensuring that people can exit safely.

Compliance with Safety Codes

Many local, state, and national building codes require the installation of exit devices in commercial buildings, particularly in high-occupancy areas such as schools, hospitals, and shopping centers. Our exit devices meet or exceed all relevant safety standards, ensuring your building remains compliant.

Security

While exit devices facilitate easy egress, they also provide security against unauthorized entry. Many models are designed to allow egress without compromising the security of the building, making them a perfect solution for businesses that need to balance safety with security.

Our Range of Exit Devices

At Door Resources, we offer a comprehensive selection of exit devices tailored to various applications and building requirements.

Rim Exit Devices

Rim exit devices are mounted on the surface of the door and are ideal for single doors or pairs of doors. They are easy to install and offer a high level of security, making them a popular choice for many commercial applications.

Mortise Exit Devices

Mortise exit devices are installed within a pocket cut into the door itself, providing a clean, flush appearance. These devices are commonly used in situations where aesthetics and security are equally important.

Vertical Rod Exit Devices

Vertical rod exit devices are designed for double doors and provide latching at both the top and bottom of the door. These devices are ideal for large doors that require additional security and stability.

Concealed Vertical Rod Exit Devices

For doors where a clean appearance is desired, concealed vertical rod exit devices offer the same benefits as traditional vertical rods but with all the mechanisms hidden within the door.

Alarmed Exit Devices

Alarmed exit devices feature built-in alarms that sound when the door is opened, providing an added layer of security and helping to prevent unauthorized exits. These devices are ideal for use in locations such as emergency exits or secure areas.

Fire-Rated Exit Devices

Our fire-rated exit devices are designed to withstand the intense conditions of a fire, ensuring that your doors remain operational and safe during an emergency. These devices are essential for buildings where fire safety is a top priority.

What is an exit device?

An Exit Device (also known as a panic bar, crash bar, panic device, or push bar) is a device for unlocking a door during an emergency. The mechanism consists of a spring-loaded metal bar fixed horizontally to the inside of an outward-opening door. When the device is either pushed or depressed, it activates a mechanism that unlatches the door allowing occupants to leave quickly from the building.

Why install an exit device?

Exit devices are a critical part of the Fire and Life Safety egress system and will provide safe and reliable service when properly applied and maintained. If emergency exits are required, the exit device works efficiently to allow people to pass through security doors without a speed reduction. An exit device’s fast-acting mechanism reduces the risk that a rushing crowd might suddenly become a logjam at the exits. Exit devices are often required by federal, state, or local municipalities.
